Limited Offer:
Story School for Aspiring Gandalfs

Coming Soon in EARLY 2022

Have you ever wished you were as powerful Gandalf? Wouldn't it be cool to be able to walk up to any unsuspecting Hobbit and not only talk them into leaving the house, and but convince them to go on this terrifying jewelry to feed some haunted jewelry to a volcano? Imagine being that persuasive!

Well, you're in luck. I'm starting a class for people just like you.

Learn how to harness the power of story, cast your audience as the hero, and send them on daring quests.

Weekly live 1-hr class

In this six-week course, you'll learn:

  • What makes stories so powerful

  • How influential people and groups use story

  • How you can tell an engaging story

  • How to craft a story centering on your audience as the hero

30 min workshop after each class (optional)

Apply your newfound knowledge to a personal project of your choice:

  • Sales website

  • Nerd Nite talk

  • Pitch deck

  • Novel

  • Even a D&D campaign!

There will be homework, but it will largely involve watching cool films like The Martian and The Lego Movie.

Estimated time commitment outside of class: 2-4 hours/week.

Learn from the biggest story nerd.

I've been nerding out about stories professionally for 10+ years.
Some highlights:

  • Creating pun-laden educational puppet show scripts for Georgia Aquarium

  • Writing about magical wine sinks for HowStuffWorks

  • Producing the cult-classic Nerd Nite DC (featuring special events with Nat Geo, the Smithsonian, Atlas Obscura, and more!)

  • Telling a scandalous tales on the award-winning RISK! podcast

Plus, the Washington Post once said I'm "pretty good at telling jokes" for a "biological entity"... so you know my class will be fun.

This class is based on the two-day workshop I give to Georgetown grad students. If you've taken that workshop, you'll still love this class!
